To Etsy or Not to Etsy?
Going back to this post, I'm still fiddling. I've made several variations on the theme and the pictures are below.
I have necklaces I've made in many different styles and I tend to get compliments on them when I'm out. I've sold a few that way. I don't mean that in a bragging way but I mention it because the observation brought me to my next thought. What do you know about Etsy? I've heard of it a lot and poked around a bit but I haven't bought or sold anything there before. As a user (buyer or seller), what did you think? I'm considering starting an Etsy store and I'd love your input.
What do you think would be a good Etsy name? I kind of like an unExpected Twist but I would love suggestions.

I love your jewelery and I'd totally buy some. I like the one above but with the colored beads, but the gold is cool too. give it a shot, hell, what's there to lose? Love the coin stuff too, if you can part with them.
ReplyDeleteWoop Woop i'd go so far as to give the link to hubby and make him buy me some for me!! but you can send me some as samples if you need them tested out... you know just for like feedback purposes... and cos I love you... and i flew a million miles to meet you and cos I'd be the coolest chick on the block with them...
ReplyDeleteetsy is a good place, but i've been thinking of opening a new shop on Big Cartel because sometimes i think it's easy to get lost in the "noise" of etsy. there is SO much there and i think that uploading to the shop is really cumbersome and not very user friendly. but i know lots of people have great success with it. i've sold a few things, but haven't gone after it particularly hard.
ReplyDeletei think you're making some really cool jewelry that just might stand out there. and it's only .20 to list, so it's totally worth trying it out.

Etsy is good, but you have to really work on your shop...ie: smooze in the forums and sell yourself.
ReplyDeleteI used to sell...and buy there. My store gets lost in the shuffle. I need to update it and get stuff listed.
That said...Very Cool pieces you've made!
I think the idea of starting a store is great! Your necklaces are always attention-getting. In fact, I think one of our first conversations were about one of your pieces! : ) They're unique and gorgeous, especially the dais-style ones. I think you start them with a washer and by twisting wire, but I always think of that style as the 'dais style'.
