Christmas on Valentine's Day?

Okay, well, my family is unconventional. But we all knew that, yes? Due to conflicts in timing this year (the downside of a very large family) it looks like I will be having Christmas with the kids and Eric's family on Christmas day and then Christmas with my sisters and everyone else on Valentine's day. My little sister jokingly combined the names into Valentristmas (though maybe Valentmas is easier to say?). Anyway, so if we do that then I think I need to put up a tree for this but decorate it for Valentine's instead of Christmas and put a big heart on the top of the tree. What do you think?

Here are a couple trees and an ornament I found online for ideas. I think it could work.

Pictures from here, here and here.

  1. I think it's a great idea. that is assuming you want to leave the tree up til then. Personally it'd make me nuts. I like to put the tree away right after Christmas.

  2. Ooooh, I like that idea!!! Sounds fun! I think the top one is my reigning favorite! A red tree would also be pretty interesting! Also, if you're interested, I have a lot of 'ready to be painted' ceramic xmas ornaments lingering in my craft stuff. I used to have a bunch of hearts that could be painted to fit the V-day theme. Anyways, It'd be fun to get together and paint!

  3. Finally got someone. . .Dave. . .to fix my email. How many months has it been? At this rate I will be happy just to make it to Valentines day. Question. . .How come fair weather driving excuses only go for people driving south? What makes you think we like driving North in the bad weather?
