It's not gone unnoticed

I am very thankful for the 365 project because I'm now looking at the world around me, in some ways, as if for the first time. Like this morning. Normally I would hurry to get out of the cold as quickly as I could move. I'd pull my coat tight and try to move faster without really seeing anything around me. And this morning I would have missed this. This beautiful leaf completely covered in frost all the way round. It was lovely but "usual me" wouldn't have bothered to notice it and probably would have crushed it under a boot as I hurried along. And I'm so very glad I stopped. I'm glad I got down on my knees, looking goofy, and took this picture. It really is lovely to see the world fresh.

Did you see something recently you would never have noticed? What has you looking at everything differently?

  1. i know what you mean. you start seeing the world in a different way, dont you? yesterday i noticed an old pile of paper files in a colleague's office and thought that they would make a great subject for a photo. today i was looking at something and my daughter asked me if was thinking about taking a photo of it. and the children are beginning to notice things because i am always photogrpahing evertything too. they come calling "mamma bring you camera" at every little thing :)

  2. Beautiful leaf. I, too, have been noticing things and thinking about how they would work in a photo. And seeing beauty in things that I wouldn't have thought beautiful. I think Bambi's picture from yesterday is a good example. Just seven little pills, but a beautiful shot.

  5. I just love your post--speaks to exactly how I feel! And your image is so beautiful and ironic too. This project really is eye-opening it is true. Today I'm starting a Friday Face project. I'm seeing smiley faces everywhere now!
